Card 1, The Child: a girl holding golden light in a night forest Card 7, The Mirror: a woman in red looking into a dark basin Card 222, Virelai: two luminous figures before a gate of light Card 115, The Key: a golden key in a dark doorway Card 223, The Still Point: a seated figure among standing stones under a violet sky

Why a mirror

Recognise yourself in the myth — and in the card

Every card is a painted threshold: a figure, a landscape, an object or a moment from the great stories of humankind. Draw one and ask what it shows you about where you stand.

Luminus began as a way to talk about change in leadership work without reducing people to boxes. Over two years it grew into a full symbolic system: 223 cards in twelve arcs, moving from the self out into the world and back again, from The Child to The Still Point.

Not a fortune-telling deck. A mirror for reflection, conversation and action.

Each card can be read upright or reversed, used alone or in one of twelve spreads, in coaching, in teams or on your own at the kitchen table.

The deck

Twelve arcs, 223 cards

From the core archetypes of the self, through gods and companions, elements and seasons, landscapes and dwellings, to the Mayan day signs and the Luminus Compass. The first three cards of every arc are revealed now. The rest are unveiled at launch.

Card names are shown in Swedish, the deck's first language. English, German and Spanish editions follow.

Ask the mirror

Bring a question. Draw a card.

Write a real question you are carrying, about work, a relationship or a choice. Then draw. The card may come upright or reversed. You get what the card means, and a mirror that turns it back towards your question.

The back of a Luminus card

Your question stays in your browser; nothing is sent or saved. The mirror draws from the 37 cards revealed so far. It is a tool for reflection, not a prediction.

Inside the books

One card, two depths

Every card has a spread in the Handbook that comes with the deck, and twelve pages in the Great Work, the special edition. Two sample spreads from the typeset proofs:

The Handbook · with every deck

Card 1 · The Child

One spread per card: the painting, a key phrase, element and resonances, the gift and the trap, a myth, an exercise and the card in six encounters.

The Great Work · special edition

Card 33 · Kali

Twelve pages per card in six linen volumes: symbol notes, sources quoted in full, ink illustrations, a guided meditation, and mirrors across cultures, each marked by how close the parallel really is.

How it works

One card, four moves

Draw

Shuffle, ask a real question and draw. The arc marker shows when you have travelled the whole deck.

Look

Read the image first. Every painting is built from symbols that the Handbook explains.

Turn

Upright or reversed? Each card carries its message, its obstacle, its challenge and its omen.

Act

A question, a short exercise and three related cards turn reflection into a next step.

Questions

Frequently asked

When does the campaign launch?

The launch date will be announced to the waitlist first. Sign up and you will get one email when the campaign opens.

Do I need to believe in oracles to use the deck?

No. The Handbook has a chapter on working with the cards without believing in them. They are a tool for reflection and conversation, not prediction.

Why are most cards grey?

The first three cards of every arc are revealed now. The other cards are unveiled when the campaign opens.

Which languages?

Swedish and English are part of the base goal. German and Spanish editions are stretch goals.

How were the paintings made?

Every painting began with detailed direction from Mattias Seger on content, details, style, look and feel, and went through many iterations with AI image tools between 2024 and 2026. The chosen images were then upscaled, retouched and framed. All AI-generated material on this site is labelled.

Where do you ship?

Worldwide, from Sweden and through warehouses in the EU and the US. Shipping is charged after the campaign in the pledge manager.
